pahl (Physical Activity & Healthy Living) is a project created to promote healthy active living to Special Olympics athletes and students across Ontario.
The pahl project serves as a bridge to help attract new athletes to the movement while also enhancing the athletes’ abilities to train and compete which in turn empowers them to invest in their overall health and well-being.
Local elementary and secondary school students with intellectual disabilities and their teachers can participate in activities that introduce them to many official Special Olympics sports including Bocce, Basketball, Soccer, Bowling, Floor Hockey and more. There are also opportunities to promote healthy living through our Healthy Athletes disciplines like Health Promotion, FUNfitness, TRAIN, and other screenings.
pahl also offers fun programs that can be carried out in classrooms like: Active Start, FUNdamentals, Youth Multi-Sport (YMS) and Step Into Action. Everyone will have a great time while they learn more about getting involved in SOO programs.
